This eagle is a golden symbol of hope.

I hope that everyone enjoyed their day off last week, or if you’re not living in the US, your Friday. I thought I’d stay on a patriotic trend today with this post about a very large golden eagle. If you have a thing against birds, I would steer clear of this post, and Atlanta for that matter because until recently we were home to, well not only three bird themed sports teams, but we tend to have a few of them flying around wherever you go. If you have nightmares that resemble Hitchcock’s “The Birds” I would, 1, seek psychiatric help, 2 never leave my house, and 3 possibly move to a country that doesn’t have a very large and ferocious bird as its mascot. Now, everyone knows that the Bald Eagle is our National Symbol, but if Ben Franklin had gotten a larger say, we would be using coins with a slightly more cumbersome bird on the back. Gold and Diamonds, the untold story of the world cup.

The world cup is here, and the world is rabid with excitement. I personally may not understand why, never being a soccer fan myself (Sorry), but there has to be a reason for #worldcup and #becausefutbol trending for a month straight. 2 hours of research later, I still don’t get it (Sorry again), but what I do know now, is that this exists.

That’s one sparkling Mint Julep

It’s 52 degrees in Atlanta right now, which is downright glacial when you think about the fact that it’s May, and well, this is GA. You’d expect this sort of thing from places like Chicago and New York, but we had temps in the 90’s in March, and weather is just not supposed to go backwards, us Georgians could very well start suffering from frostbite. But anyways, for the sake of this post, we’re going to pretend that it’s a balmy 90 degrees, and that we’re sitting at Churchill Downs, waiting for the race to start. And oh, what’s that, oh it’s my Mint Julep. Ahhhh, that’s nice.

The Ludwig van Beethoven Diamond

Things that make you go, “Hrmmmm”.  Purple ketchup, Ugg boots with mini-skirts, and diamonds made out of people.  They all make you pause and wonder just what exactly the world is coming to. However, here they are, and hopefully, at least for the first two, they won’t stick around for much longer. But it seems that the latter is here to stay, and I just can’t figure out whether it’s really cool, or really disturbing. I guess I’d much rather wear Uncle Tim on my finger than have him immortalized on my mantle, at least as a diamond he’d be pretty. Now, if you recall, we once brought you a similar story about a grieving dog lover who immortalized her beloved pooch Mack by turning him into a diamond, and that was unusual enough. But this one. Wow. Continue reading

What goes better with gold, than diamonds?

I’ve never understood the allure of a grill. Sure they’re nice and shiny, and undoubtedly a statement piece. But they just look difficult to clean, cumbersome and altogether not something that I’d like in my mouth. Now, before you all run to call the men in white coats, I should probably clarify that I’m not speaking of grills. Really, I’m not, this is a diamond blog after all.  Continue reading

It’s never safe to say that you’ve seen it all.

Some days I wonder whether or not I’ve seen it all. I mean, after seeing a diamond encrusted skull and a diamond made out of dead people you’d think that it would be fairly difficult to surprise me. Short of welding diamonds to your underwear I wouldn’t bat an eye. But then I saw an article on cookware… and batted by eyes… multiple times. Sure that could be construed as blinking, but when you see this you’re going to blink a few times as well. Continue reading

Now THIS is a diamond watch!

We understand that Mondays are hard. It’s a difficult adjustment to make from the freedom of the short weekend to looking forward through the work week. But don’t worry. We’re here to make it better, with diamonds. You see, we’ve found that diamonds are an excellent remedy for the Monday blues. It’s really hard to feel sad when confronted with a handful of giant diamonds. So I went to my list of articles and pulled up this little beauty. Continue reading

That’s some “brooch”!

Ok, so who here is a fan of America’s Next Top Model? I’m sure that’s every one of you, but just in case it’s not, here’s the gist. It’s a show about models, competing to be America’s Next Top Model. Got it? Great. But seriously, it’s a show where aspiring fashion models get put through the photographic wringer in a variety of stunts and fashion shoots that are reality tv gold. And one season, the girls walked in a fashion show, but this wasn’t your ordinary show where a girl walks down the runway alone, no, this time she had a buddy. Continue reading
